Killer of LGBT activist was sent to prison for nine years

According to Haqqin.az, at today’s court hearing, the verdict of Amrullah Gulaliev was read out, according to which he will conduct nine and a half years in places of imprisonment.

Avaz Shikhmamedov was killed on February 22 of this year in the courtyard of his house in the village of Balakhan. The accused of committing a crime Amrula Gulaliev said that the incident occurred against the backdrop of disagreements. Shikhmamedov, who collaborated with the “13th channel” and a number of other Internet telekanals, was known as a LGBT activist and took part in protests against violations of the rights of sex minorities.
