Zakharova on negotiations on Donbass: I went to a dead end

“The European Union included in the process of militarization of Ukraine, on this background negotiations on the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis went into a dead end.” This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharov, reports TASS.

According to her, on December 2, the Council of the European Union decided to allocate 31 million euros for military-technical assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“This decision does not contribute to the world in the Donbas. Against this background, negotiations on a peaceful settlement actually came to a dead end,” she said.

Zakharova noted that the meeting of the contact group and its working subgroups took place from December 7 to 8 were once again ended to no avail.

“Instead of fulfilling the obligations on the Minsk complex of measures, Ukraine is engaged in simulating the process, evades direct dialogue with Donetsk and Lugansk and is trying to shift the responsibility for the problem with the settlement of Russia, which is a mediator in the peace process,” the diplomat emphasized .

She also noted that such actions are aimed at distracted by citizens of Ukraine from internal problems.

“Against the background of the nationalist movements, the information of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine is alarming that 5 million units of unrecorded firearms are in circulation. In parallel, the Ukrainian authorities expand the legislative base that undermines the Minsk Agreements,” said Zakharov, calling Kiev refuse to sabotage agreements and terminate human rights violations.
