African Union urged to increase Libya’s help

The African Union calls on the member states of the association and the international community urgently accelerate the efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to the victims of flooding in Libya. This was stated by the chairman of the commission of the African Union Musa Faki Mohammed.

He recalled that over 11 thousand people became victims of natural disaster, and more than 40 thousand were forced to leave their homes.

According to him, as part of the efforts to restore the destroyed infrastructure in the disaster zone, the African Union will send specialists in the field of agriculture, humanitarian aid, economics and healthcare.

On September 10, the north-east of Libya attacked the powerful Daniel cyclone. He brought a storm wind and storms with thunderstorms located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
