Armenia shakes a new corruption scandal around Ministry of Defense

The land plot of the former military unit in Stepanavana, who was on the balance of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, in 2008 was illegally alienated by officials of the defense department, the Armenian media reports.

It is noted that 6 hectares of the territory of the military unit were sold for 58 million Armenian drams, which is in terms of over 121,141 dollars. The Treaty on the purchase and sale of the site was signed in March 2008 with the Committee of Real Estate Committee.

A month later, the Committee was issued a certificate of ownership of land.

In the fact of the illegal sale of the site, a criminal case was initiated.
