Azerbaijan takes place in annual blood donation in connection with Ashura’s Day

In Azerbaijan, an annual rally of donation blood is held in connection with Ashur’s Day.

This year, the 10th day of the month Muharram, that is, Ashura, falls on July 28. Every year in Azerbaijan on Ashura’s Day, an action is organized for voluntary donation blood.

The action was organized on a joint initiative of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan and the Muslims of the Caucasus Muslims.

According to the head of the Central Bank of Blood Gumral Veliev, volunteers can donate blood in 8 mosques and sanctuaries, and in the departments of the Central Bank of Blood.

Velieva noted that healthy people aged 18 to 65 with a minimum weight of 50 kg can take blood. Donors take about 450 million liters of blood. The decision on the assumption to donate blood is made after a medical examination.

Monthly Muharram, which began on July 19, will end on August 17. The next day, August 18, the month of Safar begins, which will last until September 16.
