Finland confiscated property of Russian oligarch Timchenko

In Finland, the executive service confiscated the share of the ownership of the Russian oligarch’s suction, Gennady Timchenko in the Helsinki Hartwall Arena. It is reported by Yle.

Timchenko, also a Finnish citizen, with the beginning of a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation to Ukraine was on the EU sanctions list. The procedures for his property began in March.

Timchenko’s share in Arena Events Oy, which owns the Hartwall Arena, is 22.5%, its cost is estimated at 10 million euros. He has been a co -owner of the arena since 2013 with Roman Rotenberg, and also acted as a large sponsor of the Jokerit hockey team, for which the Arena is a “native” hall. Rotenberg has already fallen under US sanctions, but so far – not the European Union.

Hartwall Arena took numerous concerts and sporting events, in particular, hockey competitions, this is one of the main halls in the Finnish capital. The world hockey championships were held here, in 2007 – selection for Eurovision.

After the start of the full -scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, nothing happened in the hall – the organizers canceled or postponed events, not wanting to deal with the site because of its Russian owners. In March, the manufacturer of the drinks Hartwall – the sponsor of the arena, from which she received the name – stopped cooperation and ordered to remove her sign.
