Today, December 2, 2022, in the video conferencing mode, chaired by the Chairman of the CIS Economic Council, Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin, the 96th meeting of the CIS Economic Council was held. According to Haqqin.az, citing the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, during the meeting, a wide range of issues of economic cooperation of the CIS participants was considered.
Azerbaijan at the meeting was represented by a member of the Economic Council, First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyubov. The meeting was attended by a permanent authorized representative of the Republic of Armenia with the authorized and other CIS bodies of crushing Khumaryan.
According to the press service of the executive committee, special attention in the meeting was paid to the development of cooperation in the field of industry. The members of the Economic Council approved the projects of the concept of the development of industrial cooperation of the CIS states and a set of measures to develop the industrial cooperation of the CIS participants for the period until 2030, the report on the activities of the Council on the Industrial Policy of the CIS Parties in 2018-2021, which submitted, which presented First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Reducing of Poverty of the Republic of Uzbekistan Erkin Rustamov.
However, contrary to the adopted agenda and the nature of the activity of the economic council – the executive body of the Commonwealth, which provides the free trade and economic integration zone, the representative of Armenia Humaryan, the Humaryan, made provocative statements against Azerbaijan, allowing in his speech noise accusations related to combat clashes of divisions Azerbaijan and Armenia on the state border.
The provocative performance of the R. Khumaryan caused an angry protest of the first deputy prime minister of Azerbaijan Yagubov Eyubov. In the response, Ya. Eyubov called on the representative of Armenia not to violate the format of the meeting. Ya. Eyubov regretfully emphasized that for the second time he had to respond to the attack of Armenian representatives of a political nature at the site of socio-economic cooperation. The Deputy Prime Minister called on the chairman and the CIS Executive Committee from now on to prevent the politicization of meetings. Further, the Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister responded to the arguments of the Khumaryan R. Khumaryan and brought to the attention of the participants in the meeting the true state of affairs, which developed around the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement.
The chairman, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Serik Zhumangari, agreed with the arguments of the representative of Azerbaijan to inadmissibility of the politicization of the site of economic cooperation. Along with this, S. Zhumangarin especially noted the peacekeeping efforts of Azerbaijan, which Ya. Eyubov spoke in detail, and called for the activation of efforts to establish a durable world in the region.
