Food safety agency warns entrepreneurs

Azerbaijani food security agency warned entrepreneurs engaged in the import and sale of biologically active food additives (BAA). The press service of the Agency Haqqin.az was said that many cases of violation of entrepreneurs importing dietary supplements, the requirements of relevant legislation.

Legislation requires that the instructions for the use of these food additives contained the mention that they are not drugs.

It is noted that in order to strengthen the body, the dietary supplements can be recommended by a doctor, but do not replace drugs assigned to treat and prevent diseases. Therefore, the instructions for their use do not allow information about the name, prevention and treatment of one or another disease.

Import and the sale of BAA in Azerbaijan should be carried out in the framework of the requirements of the current legislation. Entrepreneurship objects in this area are obliged to strictly comply with the requirements of the legislation, and consumers acquiring dietary supplements, carefully familiarize themselves with inscriptions on the packaging and instructions, the APB report says.
