In Borjomi, work on extinguishing a forest fire with the participation of several hundred firefighters and military personnel, as well as special equipment, continues. In the morning of August 22, four helicopters of the border police resumed the fire extinguishing. At the moment, the danger of the spread of fire to settlements has been eliminated. This was reported by the local Borjomi television company with reference to representatives of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The fire in the Borzhomsky district stew for the fourth day. The situation is complicated by the wind and a complex mountainous relief that does not allow the use of fire equipment. Since yesterday, representatives of different departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, local authorities, employees of forestry and reserves have been in Borjomi since yesterday.
On behalf of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, to eliminate the fire in Borjomi, they attracted the relevant services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.
