In Republic of Komi, miner died as result of flooding of mine

In the city of Vorkuta in the Republic of Komi as a result of a breakthrough of groundwater and partial flooding of the Uperslar Miner, the Vorkutangol Autonomous Okrug died.

About this on Monday, on January 15, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in the Republic of Komi reported.

“This morning, in Vorkuta, as a result of a breakthrough of groundwater, partial flooding occurred in the Zapolyarny mine (at a depth of 600 m). Units of the Vorkutinsky platoon of the militarized mining part and medical brigade immediately left for the place,- follows from the message to the telegram channel.

In the State Emergencies Ministry of Emergencies, they specified that there is a shift of 60 people in the mine, three people worked on the emergency site, one was injured, the search work of one person is carried out.

“The victim with bruises and a fracture was taken to the hospital. The third worker died,”- follows from the message.

The Miner “Zapolyarny” was commissioned in 1949. Workutangol JSC – one of the largest coaling companies in Russia, is the only Russian coaling company operating in the Far North.
