Iran Prosecutor General “democratizes” before our eyes

Iranian Prosecutor Mohammed Jafar Montazeri said that he always supported the restriction of access to the Internet during the protests, but came to the conclusion that such a measure is ineffective, writes Iran International.

He noted that the Iranians bypass the prohibitions through VPN.

“Today we closed one VPN, and it was immediately replaced by another from abroad. The only solution is a complete shutdown of the Internet, which is impossible, and officials do not support such a decision,” Montazeri said.

.

Earlier today, Montazeri announced the abolition of the customs of the morals against the backdrop of large -scale protests in Iran. As the Prosecutor General noted, the moral police had “nothing to do with the judicial system.” He also noted the need to revise the laws providing for the mandatory wearing of a hijab woman.
