Italian authorities suspended the consideration of the sixth package of military assistance to Ukraine, writes IL Messaggero with reference to sources in the government.
According to officials, the consideration was frozen due to the need to coordinate the lists of weapons provided with NATO and to consider all the details of the military requests of Kyiv. After these procedures, Italy will know exactly what weapons are needed by the Ukrainian army.
Experts emphasized that certain problems may appear during the sending of weapons. Italy does not have a sufficient number of SAMP-T anti-aircraft missile systems that requested the Armed Forces. In case of sending them to Kyiv, Rome may be left without its own protection system.
