Russian Foreign Ministry is considered impossible to restore grain transaction without Moscow

The restoration of a grain transaction, the action of which was interrupted after July 17, is impossible without the participation of Moscow. This was announced on Tuesday by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin on the fields of the UN summit for food systems passing in Rome, TASS reports.

“My opinion is that without Russia this [carry out a grain transaction] cannot be done,” he said. “Now negotiations on the resumption of the grain transaction are not going on. Our position is clearly voiced. After the 17th, the resumption of the Black Sea initiative did not take place. We objected to this. We objected taking into account the experience of the Istanbul agreements that we accumulated over the year,” Vershinin added.

The Deputy Minister noted that how the transaction is being implemented in terms of grain export, most of which are faraway and fodder is not related to the fight against hunger. In addition, he recalled that the second part – the memorandum with the UN, which provided for the assistance of the unhindered export of products and fertilizers from Russia – did not earn.
