UN Security Council on onset of Taliban movement

The Security Council (Sat) of the UN is deeply concerned about the high level of violence in Afghanistan after the initiation of the Taliban movement. This is stated in the UN Security Council Communicated on Tuesday.

“Members of the Security Council called for an immediate decrease in violence. They also expressed deep concern about the high number of human rights violations in the areas raised by armed conflict,” the statement said.

In addition, the UN Security Council called “the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Taliban movement to start an inclusive and informative peace process under the guidance and with the participation of Afghans to achieve a speedy political settlement and truce.” The document is noted.
