United States is replenishing its own weapons reserves. Do not forget about Ukraine

The US Ministry of Defense concluded contracts with a number of weapons manufacturers $ 1.2 billion to make up for weapons and equipment reserves, Pentagon said.

The report notes that part of the assistance provided by Ukraine was acquired under contracts from manufacturers, but a significant part of the weapons worth about $ 12.5 billion was provided under the framework of presidential powers.

“Since we are working with industry to accelerate production to replenish stocks and direct purchases as part of the initiative to promote Ukraine’s security, we use a number of tools to speed up financing and conclusion of contracts,” the Pentagon’s press service quoted the Deputy Minister of Defense for Procurement and providing Bill Laporation.

According to him, contracts worth about $ 1.2 billion have already been concluded to replenish internal reserves. Financing will go to Javelin, Stinger and Himars.

The official noted that the Pentagon is currently working on contracts for another $ 1.2 billion for equipment promised to Ukraine, including 155-mm artillery shells, Switchblade unmanned aerial vehicles, radar systems and tactical vehicles.
