European Union does not recognize passports issued in Ukraine

Vice-President of the European Commission, the head of the European Union’s diplomacy, Josep Borrel, said that the EU would not recognize Russian passports issued to Ukrainian citizens in Ukrainian territories controlled by Russian troops. He said this in Prague at a press conference after an informal meeting of the EU Council at the level of foreign ministers.

“We agreed that passports issued by the Russian authorities in the territories of Ukraine will not be recognized,” Borrel emphasized
