Ex-Minister of Defense Armenia David Tonoyan arrested

The Court decided to arrest the Ex-Minister of Defense of Armenia David Tondan for two months, report Armenian media.

According to Tonanian lawyer, Sergey Hovhannisyan, the ex-minister does not recognize himself guilty. He performed in the courtroom with relevant explanations. The lawyer said that the decision would be appealed in the appellate court.

The criminal case under which Tonanoan passes is initiated in connection with the abuse of official powers by high-ranking officials of the country’s Ministry of Defense when acquiring ammunition for the needs of the aircraft. The second defendant of the case was sent to the arrest, David Galstyan, known as “Cartridge Davo”. Previously, he was detained on charges of the supply of the republic of the republic unsuitable for the use of artillery shells.
