Poland is ready to guard sky over Slovakia

The Minister of Defense of Slovakia Yaroslav above said that Poland was ready to protect the airspace of Slovakia if the country decides to abandon its park of Soviet fighters MiG-29, reports the Air Force.

His Polish colleague said that the Polish F-16 may provide protection from bases in Poland.

Polish aircraft is already helping to protect the Baltic countries as part of NATO operations to patrol airspace.

But the time of this statement – after the meeting of the two ministers in Bratislava, is of great importance.

This was not directly mentioned, but it is assumed that steps are seriously examined to send some Slovak MiGs to Ukraine.

Slovakia has a total of twelve MiG-29, based on the Slyach air base. However, the current combat readiness of these fighters, which in the West are obsolete, is not entirely clear.
