Special forces of Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan conducted joint exercises

The special forces of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan conducted joint special tactical exercises to combat terrorism in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan.

Joint exercises “Courage-2023” (“Erdik”) with the participation of special purpose units of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan took place at an altitude of 2295 to 3540 meters above sea level.

Participants in the exercises aimed at detecting and destroying basic camps of illegal armed groups in the mountainous area, conducted reconnaissance and search activities along two routes with a length of more than 40 km.

During the exercises, in addition to studying the area and routes of movement, the search and detection of warehouses with ammunition was carried out. About 300 troops of the Armed Forces of the two countries took part in weekly exercises, about 30 units of military, specialized and aviation equipment were involved.

The last stage of joint exercises was observed by the Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan Baktybek Bekbolotov and the Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Ruslan Zhaksylykov.

The exercises, during which scenarios such as air and ground intervention were worked out, operations aimed at destroying the BAZ of terrorists and the scenarios of the liberation of hostages, ended with a military parade and award ceremony.

The agreement on military cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan was signed in 1992. Since 1998, more than 300 Kyrgyz military specialists have been training in various military educational institutions of Kazakhstan.
