Sweden did not confirm data on murder of critic Kadyrov Tumso Abdurahmanov

The Swedish police did not confirm information about the murder of the Chechen opposition blogger Tumso Abdurahmanov.

“The police department cannot confirm the information or give additional comments on the situation with the Tumso Abdurakhmanov,” said Sofia Hellquist, representative of the police,

Tumso Abdurakhmanov is known for his criticism of Chechnya authorities. In 2015, he left Russia, according to him, after a conflict with relatives of Ramzan Kadyrov. The blogger received the status of a political refugee in Sweden. In Chechnya, Abdurahmanov is accused of ties with ISIS. In 2020, a man penetrated the apartment of Abdurakhmanov in Sweden and hit him with a hammer on the head. The blogger managed to take a hammer from him and call the police. In 2021, an attacker named Ruslan Mamaev received 10 years in prison (later the term was increased by two years). His accomplice Elvira Shapiaeva, who helped him get into the apartment, was given eight years.
