The historical decision of the Azerbaijani parliament on the opening of the embassy in Israel is an important shift in relations between Israel and Azerbaijan, the publication of the American -Israeli Committee on Public Relations (AIPAC) on Twitter says.
“Azerbaijan will become the first Muslim Shiite country to opened the embassy in the Jewish state,” the message says.
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) also commented on the decision to open the embassy.
“We welcome the historical decision of Azerbaijan to open an embassy in Israel. Azerbaijan is the first Muslim Shiite country to do this. AJC and Azerbaijan are long -standing partners. This step will strengthen the connection between Israel and the Muslim world,” the Diaspass organization noted in its own Twitter account.
