NATO countries will gather to discuss Ukraine

NATO Military Committee at the level of chiefs of staff will be gathered on May 19, they will discuss the war in Ukraine, the upcoming summit in Madrid, the alliance said in a common statement.

It is reported that the meeting will be held in Brussels, representatives of Finland and Sweden are also invited to it. In addition to Ukraine, there is a discussion of the long -term reinforcement of NATO near the eastern borders, preparations for the summit in Madrid.

“NATO Military Committee – the Supreme Military Anti -Alliance, will be brought together on May 19, 2022 in Brussels. The chairman of the NATO Military Committee Admiral Rob Bauer will hold a meeting in which the headquarters of the defense headquarters of the member countries of the Alliance will take part,” the document says. It is noted that “NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will join the first part of the meeting to discuss the geostrategic context and prepare for the summit in Madrid, which will be held in June 2022”

According to the document, the second part of the meeting will be devoted to the war in Ukraine. “The chiefs of staff of the defense of Finland, Sweden and Ukraine will join the discussion,” the statement emphasizes.
