Russian court arrested journalist Nevzorov in absentia

The court in Moscow in absentia arrested the St. Petersburg publicist and journalist Alexander Nevzorov in the criminal case on the spread of misinformation about the Russian army. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the court.

“The court chose a preventive measure in the form of absentee arrest to Nevzorov A. G., accused under part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public distribution of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation),” the court said.

Previously, Nevzorov was put on the wanted list in Russia, a card with his data was placed in the base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. A criminal case against a journalist under the article “Public distribution under the guise of reliable messages of knowingly false information on the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” was instituted in March 2022. A month later, he was recognized as an foreigner.
