Starlink in Ukraine turned off for non -payment

APU lost contact with 1300 SpaceX Starlink terminals. Presumably, they were disconnected for non -payment, reports CNN.

The problems with the connection began at the end of October 2022. According to sources, for the Ukrainian military this was a huge problem. SpaceX levied $ 2500 $ 2500 per month from the Ukrainian military for each of the 1300 terminals with the system. The total account for services by September grew to almost $ 20 million, and the military could no longer afford to pay.

In early October, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine sent a letter to the British Ministry of Defense with a request to pay a monthly account of $ 3.25 million.

SpaceX sent a letter to the Pentagon, which says that there are almost 20,000 Starlink terminals in Ukraine. The company admitted that most of them were not provided by it, but by the Government of the United States, Poland and Great Britain. The letter claimed that these sources also paid about 30% of the monthly connection account.
